Hideaways and villas cover the length of California, each with their own beautiful paths and delicious wine tasting. The big two are world famous, the towns of Napa and Sonoma. But tucked away in the fields of the valley is a third town – Calistoga.
The town has existed since the western expansion brought Americans out to California. Among those settlers was Samuel Brannan, who became the state’s first millionaire. With that money, he opened the resort town of Calistoga.
Hotels have been serving customers for over a hundred years, and the town is right on top of some of the best hot springs across the globe. A wide selection of wine is available from any of the local wineries, and the food is exquisite. But none of that compares to the sights – Castello di Amorosa, the only Tuscan castle in the country, or the famous Petrified Forest.
This little town is the perfect escape for a couple looking to get away, and is one of the most beautiful places in the United States.
