(or What Not to Get Your Spouse for Thanksgiving)

Thanksgiving is not known as a gift-giving holiday. But here at panties.com, we think differently. And precisely because Thanksgiving is not a gift-giving holiday makes any nice gift such a delight. One that will be remembered long after the Christmas presents are forgotten.

 But all gifts are not equal – some will make her smile, while other, less thoughtful ones can make her frown. And given how emotionally some women can react, you do not want to be the one getting her that wrong gift.

 So, here are a few pointers first, on what not to give: 

1. A dishwasher. It’s only a reminder of the day-to-day work you expect her to do for you and the entire family. So let's not get her a dishwasher, guys, Ok? Unless she has specifically said she wants one. Then, by all means, get her a dishwasher - the deluxe model!
   
   
2. Baby supplies – Some men are just too smart for themselves. Yes, getting her a gift for the baby sounds thoughtful, but is it? Think for a moment, though it may please her, the gift is not really for her. You are not treating her with that special touch that makes every woman glow, so an awkward feeling will persist.
   
   
3. Shapewear – Do not do it. No matter how much better you think she would look in that new body-shaping suit, just do not gift it. You will be creating more problems than you can solve.
   
   
4. A scale – Unless she specifically asked you for a scale, gifting her one is also a bad idea. Why? Because it sends the non-verbal message that she could look better, and this will only make her insecure.
   
   
5. A cookbook – This is another big no-no. Are you implying she can't cook?
   
   
6. Cooking utensils – A woman knows how to get the things she needs around the kitchen. So, if she has not explicitly asked you for kitchen utensils, then please do not do it. And even if she did, there are better and more romantic ideas to consider.
